It occured to me today that the rate increase might have something to do
with rising fuel costs. I don't pay much attenion to diesel but I think I
saw it at $1.47 a gallon the other day that's about 40 some cents more a
gallon than last year. The oil companies have cut production and the cold
spell has increased demand for heating oil/diesel.
I agree the rates are awful I sent a single piece (about ten pounds by
itself) to california last fall, cost me about $50. Partly because by the
time I did the packing the way it had to be for insurance it was HUGE.
