I opened a jar of water based wax resist to find that it had separated (like
curd and whey) and was moldy too. I have used resist for many years and
never had this problem before. Is this a brand fault? Does anyone know how
to prevent this happening?
Thanks from Linda in Toronto.... a SNOWY place

I had my wax separate after it was frozen. I tried to remix it, but was not
pleasant to use.
As for the mold...I have no idea!

I've had it happen a lot with Aftosa wax. If you dip a brush into it
you introduce lots of mold spores and bacteria. To prevent this I pour
a little chlorine bleach in, usually when I thin it for use. The stuff
in the original container usually doesn't mold unless contaminated, but
the same fix will work.
