O.K. so I was lax in describing all of the things that will be
happening during the conference. I was pretty much sticking to the
clay portion and trying to juggle too many things which shortened
my normally cursory writing style. I was wrong....

presenters in clay include:

Vince Pitelka
John Baymore
Mel Jacobson ( in no order of importance)

In the Alabama Crafts 2000 section of the conference, which
everyone who is registered in any portion of the conference is
welcome to participate, we have presenters in:

Wood:
Brian Boggs
Michael Brolly

Jewelry:
Celia O'Kelley (precious metal clay)
Patricia Telesco
Connie Ulrich

Quilts/Surface Design
Elizabeth Bush

We also have:

Pre-conference Wood Firing ( I will be doing that one. We will be
firing with wood and my sawdust burner)

Marketing:
Selling on the internet
George Jones ( the other one)

Be a Dynamic Crafts Seller, Booth Design and Construction and
Key Note Speaker:
Bruce Baker ( I hear he is absolutely fantastic)

Iron Pour:
featuring the crew from Sloss Furnace, B'ham, AL.( this is a real
show of fire)

We will have threee exhibition venues including works of Alabama
Masters, Crafts as a Verb, from American Crafts, presenters
exhibitions and I hear we can expect an exhibition of Cynthia
Bringle's work at the Kentuck Arts Center.

Besides all of this there will be a lot of like minded souls and music
and food.

You're forgiven:>) We can't expect an academic to understand the passion
studio potters find for marketing after we discover it is "sell well or
find honest work." Judi

Lowell, those of us that have been here for a while know that it has always
been the ALABAMA CLAY CONFERENCE, and even though bring in other craft areas
will be interesting, It's still going out as the ALABAMA CLAY
CONFERENCE...... enough said .... Wish I could be there for the pre-firing
(the University of Alabama kiln fires great!!!! ) but will be at "HOG CHAIN
MOTHER" right before conference...... See you all at the
CC..... -----Original Message-----
