years. She is
the executive Director of the Metchosin International Summer
School of
the Arts at Lester B. Pearson College and works part-time
out of her
studio in Victoria , Canada. She has conducted a variety of
workshops
in raku and throwing in British Columbia, Alberta, Texas and
Mexico.
In many workshops the students tend to "frenzy" in an effort
to take
as many pots home as possible. The emphasis on this workshop
will be
to slow down the process and make notes, discuss and examine
results
so that students go home with a clear understanding of how
certain
glazes work and how post-reduction methods can alter the
finished
product.
Student should bring 2-3 bisque pots and 12 or so test tiles
made out of
raku clay. a fine grogged, white body will result in better
colors.
A non-refundable $25.00 deposit is required to reserve a
place in the workshop. Send deposit and registration to the
Coleman Clay Studio
address. For more information call 702-564-4001 or fax
