teaching one-on-one

Hi everyone.

I have taught throwing as an exchange for lessons in another art such as
stainglass but I now have someone interested in one-on-one throwing
lessons. I am looking forward to this but have no idea how much to charge
for the lessons. I will have her pay for her materials but what should I
ask for my time and firing costs?

Any input would be appreciated.

What do piano and other music teachers in your area charge
per hour for private lessons? That might be a good place to
start. YOu could build
firing costs into the price of the materials. Or calulate
cubic inches and charge accordingly.

I am running a clay art school in California. we charge $30/per hour for
private class. Firing fee: electrical kiln, 23" x 23" full loaded $36 per
firing, or $18 per shelf.
