I used a glaze about a year ago labeled "blue hair's fur, but i havent been
able to find it again. It comes out dark blue, accumulating in nooks and
crannies. If anyone has ever heard of this glaze, please e-mail me. Also i
am looking for other interesting cone 5-6-7 glazes. Is there such a thing
as a multi-colored rainbow-like glaze in cone 5-6-7 oxidation. Please write
me back if you know of anything! Thanks.

Brendan--
Here's a ^6 Blue Hare's Fur that I've used quite a bit. It looks like it
was fired in a reduction firing, but I fire it in an electric kiln. Hope
this is what you are looking for, it really is a nice glaze.
Neph Sye 47.3
Gerstley Borate 27.0
Flint/Silica 20.3
EPK 5.4
ADD:
Red Iron Oxide 2.0
Cobalt Oxide 1.0 (although I use cobalt carb at 2.0)
Rutile 4.0
Bentonite 2.0
Let me know if you have any questions. Hope this helps. Lori

I have a couple Har'e Fur's glazes, as well as a couple with different names
that have the similar effect. Let me know if you still need them & I'll type
them up for you.
Would you be willing to trade glaze recipes? I'm looking for a cone 6 ox
green crackle & a cone 6 ox glossy purple.
Let me know - I also have the Hare's Fur show catalog from a few years ago
with more info -

Hi ,
Because I receave a lot of request on this glaze, I'm writing it again the
way it was in the article.
I did a test of that glaze once, but I don't have it on hand right now and
my english is maybe not good enough to give you a accurate description.
Maybe the person who first post the request could describe it better than me
?
Here it is...
" Variation on Blue Hare'e Fur"
Cone 6 Oxidation
Furnished by Ralph McLain
Nepheline Syenite 47.30 %
Gersley Borate 27.00
Silica 20.30
EPK 5.40
total: 100.00%
Add Red Iron Oxide 2.00%
Cobalt Oxide 1.00
Rutile (milled) 4.00
Bentonite 2.00
This produces a reddish brown base below the blue (fur). Reduce the Red Iron
Oxide to .5% or 1%, and add .5% Black Iron Oxide and .5% Cobalt Carbonate
for softer blues in the "fur". Verry glossy "
