Please help this intermediate potter solve a perplexing problem!
I've been using the below recipe from the Digitalfire site for a while
now and it has always been consistent. I recently mixed up some more
and added it to a quantity I had remaining (probably about half old and
half new). I wanted enough to be able to dip easily so now have a full 5
gallon bucket of the stuff. The glaze used to be deep blue, opaque and
variegated. Now it is coming out mostly clear, somewhat lighter blue,
with only a little variegation where it pools. It also crazed. I figure
I must have left something out when I made up the second batch, but what
could it be! I suspect rutile, for some reason...the variegation I
guess. I had a set of salad plates promised to a customer out of this
glaze! Now they won't match her other pieces!
