in discussing shino with joyce, one thing became very clear to me.
glaze thickness is very important to making
good even shino. and then, getting some sort
of consistency from firing to firing.
i use a test with a piece of broken bisque.
scratch through, see how thick it is..then
count.
there is not perfect number...gotta be aware
of how much water is in the glaze, how damp
your humidity is, and how fast you count.
but, saying all that....be aware of shino thickness.
it makes a great deal of difference.
