"Picasso: 25 Years of Edition Ceramics from the Edward & Ann Weston
Collection."
March 11 - April 21
The exhibition showcases 63 ceramic pieces created by Pablo Picasso and the
artisans of the Madoura pottery workshop between 1947 and 1969. At the
Madoura workshop on the Mediterranean, Picasso designed plates, bowls, vases,
and pitchers, which he then decorated in his bold, sometimes fanciful
designs. He manipulated some of his vases and bottles into the shape of the
female figure, so that the final piece became a work of sculpture. The
exhibition also includes two posters designed by Picasso to feature Madoura
pottery.
