Hello....
Here is an idea I have been using recently.
I use our recycled clay and cut out circles and squares from slabs of various
sizes ... bisque them ... kiln wash them ... and use them under any
suspicious pots, that look like the glaze may run..... saves the shelves....

Pete,
One of my student's assignment early in the year is having them do a
6"x6" slab tile (impress found objects). Tiles that are not picked up by the
students are used for that same situation you described, saving the kiln
shelves. Funny, how things work out in real life situations. Richard
