broken belt on wheel

How come, even though I've never heard the sound before, the thunk a
snapped belt makes when it hits the wheel casing is so recognizable? And
why couldn't my wheel decide to break during the 3/4's of the year I'm
not getting ready for a sale???????

Since the belt fell to the floor before I had a chance to look at how
it's positioned and since I can't seem to lay hands on the manual, is
there any one who can give me some guidance on replacing the belt on an
Amaco model 15 wheel? Anything else I need to know about wheel
maintenance since I'm now being forced to learn?

TIA

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I have the same wheel, bought it around
1980 from Tuckers. I replace the belt on it about 3 yrs. ago. I just
went to the automotive parts store and they gave me a belt off the shelf
that was the same length and width and it has worked fine.
In my instruction booklet for the wheel it says you need to take off the
small pulley to get the new belt on.
Do you know if you can still get parts for this wheel. I am thinking I
should get a spare drive ring for it just in case.
If you need a copy of the booklet for the wheel let me know and I will
try to scan it for you.
