I don't know if this topic is still bouncing around but I've seen in an old
geological survey made in the Quebec bricks being fired in pyramids, long
ones, made with the bricks stacked up by themselves in a kind of corbelled
way. I think the idea originated in the States. The inside of the pyramid
is left hollow and the fire is just sent right through. Your bricks are
your kiln You could just throw the salt in there. I think that's also how
the guy who wrote "Ceramic Houses; How To Build Your Own" (I forget his
name) came up with his idea of firing and glazing houses made of adobe
bricks. No need for a shrink. It's a really great book by the way.
