Matthew,

Yes, it is dangerous. If your kiln is in your living space, you need to vent
it.

YES! YES! YES! Non-toxic means when wet. Please refer to an archived CLAYART
discussion of this about three or four months ago. The fumes released in
burning are irritating to the lungs in the short run and toxic over time.
Also refer to the MSDS (which you can get by calling or writing the
manufacturer) on your commercial glazes for discussion on the toxicity of
dusts built up over time. There are lots of ways around this. Do you have
kids in the house? More reason to get that kiln moved or ventilated!

Matthew: I would buy an Environvent and have the exhaust go out a basement
window pane.
I had to hire someone to do it for my kiln, but I believe it is essential
as fumes can be smelled upstairs otherwise. And it is not good for your
future.
Therefore, I would say it could be dangerous.
