I feel compelled to chime in on Michael McD's comments on Vince's guitar
playing.......singing, too... At Michael's wonderful and productive
organic farm three summers ago Vince entertained around the
shadow-casting, inviting campfire for hours without repetition. We
workshop participants sat enthralled after experiencing long days filled
with learning new skills and enhancing old ones..... days led by our
Vince who, as you might imagine, is very detail-oriented. Nothing
escapes his attention and he spares no energy in making it all work.
Just had to say that.

In the Mojave happy with my return to clay.....even though I did find
a dead, partially eaten rabbit behind the little kiln..... drat!

A friend and I have just arrived home from a truly great workshop by Vince
Pitelka at Michael McDowell's organic farm up in Washington state. Vince
is a talented and generous teacher. Although we had signed up for his slip
decorating workshop there were lots of intriguing signs of the previous
weeks hand building workshop around the studio. We all picked Vince's
brain about that shamelessly too and he didn't seem to mind at all. Not
only were we provided with loads of stimulating clay-related information
Vince also played his guitar and sang to us (and he's good at that too) at
night around the bonfire in Michael's orchard. Should any of you be
considering a workshop with Vince do it! He is really good!
