This has been the view over here in the UK for a long time.
We don't cook in Aluminium unless it has been coated with a non stick
surface for that reason.

In general, the UK and the EU do a better job of dealing with toxic products
than we do. They have essentially banned nickel from jewelry, banned over
120 dyes for use on fabrics that will be used next to the skin, and taken
many other similar actions. Our jewelers don't even know that nickel silver
and other nickel alloys should never be used in jewelry that contacts the
skin. And our fabric artists are being made fools of by their dye suppliers
because the suppliers don't even tell them what dyes they are using! They
don't even know if they use these hazardous dyes or not.
Good on the UK .
