Good morning Clayarters,
I'm sitting here reading these posts in a semi awake state
with my morning cup of hi octane (yes specialty)
coffee in my fav mug. It's a Robin Hopper circa 1974 . (name dropping snob
or what eh?)
I've been meaning to respond to this thread for a while, but Evan Dresel's
post
gave me the perfect stimulus to react and state my piece.

I'm a bit concerned about the somewhat condescending attitude expressed
in some of the posts on this thread, like people who buy espresso have
more money than brains. Hey, these folks are the market for hand
crafted goods! If you think paying for quality is stupid then maybe you
shouldn't be trying to sell relatively expensive quality pots.
Actually what I would like to see is the coffee places selling locally
produced handmade mugs.

I totally agree~! Who are we to say we are the taste police,,,,or to
determine what people will or won't choose?
My first reactions when I read some of the comments made by Clayarters about
the price of a mug were,,,hey that's right! we deserve more for our hard
work. Then later that day,,I picked up my mail and there was a cheque and
an order from ,,guess what! a local specialty coffee shop that sells my
mugs for me. They don't care whether or not they all look the same,,,and
like to have a variety of handmade mugs on display in their shop. They are
also considering whether or not they might like to order enough mugs to be
able to serve all their coffee in handmade mugs.
Sooooooooo...don't be too quick to bite the hand that feeds ya!
Kathy,,,,,,now the caffeine is startin' to kick in!!!
