kiln trouble - apology in adv

Hi! I apologize in advance for not looking first in the archives, but I have
NO time (I know, you probably don't either). I have my first job as an art
teacher - long term sub to finish out the year. The kiln is having trouble
reaching temperature. It is a Skutt with the computer controls. The
electricity lines coming in to it have already been replaced because an
assessment was made that they were not receiving the proper power. The
facility workers said that the elements are all producing the same amount -
i.e., one is not weaker than another. Is this just what happens when one
needs to replace the elements?

I am grateful for any of you who were willing to take the time to provide
your insights.

Thanks!

Susan.

Are you filing the kiln or just firing a few pots? A teacher here had
trouble "reaching temp" but it was due to the low load she had in the kiln.
The sitter would trip before the ware reached temp.

One of many possibilities.
