I seem to remember someone recently asking about used kilns. I happened
across a big oval C8 Olympic on Ebay. The bid's up to $200; it hasn't met
the reserve yet. It's in Brooklyn, I think:

Needless to say, I know nothing about it or its condition. But, I have an
old C10 Olympic, and it's a barnburner.

I haven't been following this thread, but be careful out there! I almost
bought my first electric kiln off ebay - I was the high bidder, etc, etc.
Then the woman contacted me and said she wanted me to come pick it up,
refused to even discuss a freight company with me. Then she refused to send
photos or a more descriptive analysis. When I set up a freight to deliver
it, and contacted her to tell her I was having it shipped, and would be
paying all shipping charges, but would NOT be driving across the country to
pick it up, she finally admitted that it would take awhile to pack up
because it was "in alot of pieces"....

The studio I currently work in, in Brooklyn, has some ovals for sale. I
believe the
woman who owns them has recently put them on E-bay. They are in good working
order. She is selling them because she is making a break from a large
production
business. The studio is going towards being a communal space. The kilns are
too
large for the individual artists who are working there now.
