Can any one give me the analysis of frit# 71? It is use in a raku glaze formula,
and I'm looking for the closest match in our materials inventory. Tried looking
it up to no avail.
On or off the list.
Thanks

My files list only one Frit 71, made by Hommel, and it is a
lead-based frit:
70.25 wt% PbO; 1.08 wt% K2O; 1.43% Na2O; 0.05% CaO; 2.1% Al2O3;
25.09% SiO2.
Bye for now. Peace. Tom B.

If it is Hommel frit 71 then according to Conrad the
equivelents would be Ferro 3403, Pemco Pb-723.

Tom,

Fusion ceramics has a leadless frit F-71 with the following content:

K20 3.53
Na20 20.46
Ca0 5.88
Al203 5.85
B203 5.94
Si02 58.29
Molecular weight 2ll.7 Melting temperature l380 F

However since the use for the frit is for raku your answer would be the
right one.
