A suprise substitution from my supplier. Can someone please give me the =

Judy Buchanan:
If your zinc oxide (ZnO) is standard stuff (before calcining) then
it will be 98% pure minimum... there will be some adsorbed moisture and
likely a small amount of tramp elements, although NO LEAD since most
plants in North America produce lead-free ZnO. So calcining it will have
very mininal change, EXCEPT there will be an agglomeration of particles
and a change in physical form... gone will be the fluffiness often
exhibited by uncalcined ZnO.
You may use the calcined ZnO exactly as you used the uncalcined
form... the weight change will be under 1% and this may be even lower if
the calcined ZnO sits around for awhile ...it will readsorb the moisture.
If you see caking in the bag you can be assured most of the moisture is
back.
