Beth Yeatman Spindler on fri 5 may 00
Hi,
Had a friend stop by my shop today and offer
to sell this Amaco (sorry, not sure of the spelling)
kiln he had found at an auction...it was about
3 feet tall..square....I am guessing about 2 cubic
feet inside....some firebrick had been replaced
from the bottom to about the middle part of the kiln,
elements were kinda sticking out...there was a
small cyclinder shaped piece that slid over what
looked like a wire that seemed to be part of the kiln
sitter??? he was asking 125.00 for it.....he wasn't sure
if it worked or not...I am still getting to know
my little skutt 818....so I didn't buy it...for several
reasons......not sure if it has been on clayart but
it seems that I have heard where potters have taken
old electric kilns and adapted them to become
raku kilns......???? if anyone is interested in this
kiln, you can email me off list...since it has only been
a few hours since I have talked to him, I doubt he has sold it....and can
put you in touch with him......
