One of the most important things when you try a glaze submitted by another
potter is the clay you use. If you do not use the same type of clay, you
probably won't get the same colour. In one of crystal glaze experiments, =
cobalt
turned out brown. Two pots with the same glaze, fired close together, (so =
close,
in fact, they are joined together=21=21) one glaze ran, and produced pale =
blue
crystals on a cream background. The other one did not run at all, and =
produced
brown crystals on a lighter brown background. The difference was caused by=
the
clay used in the pots.

Your iron browns may turn red if you refire them in your next bisque load.
Better if you can fire down as suggested in another post, but if you don't
have this capability, or you don't want to do this, try bisque method. It
always works for me.
