I've been building garden sculptures and containers for several years now. =
I
have had great success in building sculptures (2-3 ft.)with high-fired
stonewares and oxides. They have weathered well through several Chicago
winters. Flower pots too. I have also made flower pots of low fire, =
unglazed
stoneware. I did not put any drainage holes in the pots, but put small =
pebbles
or styrofoam =22popcorn=22 in the bottom instead. The plants are doing =
great.
