A belated thank you to the Clayarters who wrote with glaze help for my tile
project. (Clear Glaze for Laguna Aspen.) I had done the porosity/absorbtion
tests on the clay body months ago, so I was ahead of the game in that area.
I ended up buying a Laguna glaze that worked. I had some clear glaze test
batches, including some low expansion, and they all crazed during the 1st to
3rd freeze thaw test. Very surprising.
I was working 14 hour days to get one of the 3 parts of the mural ready for
dedication. (This was the agreement.) The afternoon before installation I
was told, "Oh, if all 3 parts aren't going up at once, don't put it up.
We've had some problems with vandalism of uncompleted art works." Politics
and art just don't mix.
So I slept for a week and a half and am now resurfacing with enough energy to
write and say "Thanks!"
