Me again,

I'm always doing searches and one I did returned me to the absolutely
huge and comprehensive, and extremely well designed and well-linked web
site of "Elderhostel".
It's because of the link to the JOHN C. CAMPBELL FOLK SCHOOL - North
Carolina by another potter that I saw the link to Elderhostel for people
wishing to take workshops in the crafts.

I was certainly aware of Elderhostel before, but didn't know that
pottery workshops, for example, might be offered this way.

For instance, there is this one, offered for November 2000:

> Clay: What's For Lunch?...Creating Kitchen Pots
>
> We will discuss the vast array of pottery which may be made to prepare
> and present our daily bread, then make pots as we focus on our arsenal
> of tools. Wheel-throwing and hand-building skills will be covered, as well
> as basic mold making and a few tricks.

> November 05 - November 11 ... # 33199-1105-03 ... $435

Given that the program includes instruction, accommodation and meals,
this seems a very deal.

I'm sounding so enthusiastic here I'd better include a disclaimer: I'm
not connected in any way with Elderhostel!

Helen

Just a reminder--you must be 55 or older, or a companion of someone 55 or
older to participate. My mother just came back from her first Elderhostel
trip and was very impressed.
