Vince has done it again - given a tremendously successful workshop here
in Pawleys Island, S.C.

Last year, it was Colored Clay....this year he has outdone himself with
his Ancient Clay Workshop. What a delight it was, coiling and pinching
pots, then terra sigging, polishing and burnishing them. And the bonfire
was great fun...a socially acceptable outlet for our pyro tendancies.
Best of all, the pots were wonderful...shiny, glossy deep black,
beautiful forms that we could scarcely believe came from our hands.

Vince, as many of you already know, is a knowledgeable, patient and
perceptive teacher. If you ever have a chance to attend one of his
workshops, you won't be disappointed.

Take a peek at Michael McDowell's wonderful website for information
about
this and other workshops Vince will be teaching this summer:

We plan to have him back next May for his slip trailing workshop. Mark
your calenders!

Thanks Vince, we'll keep the light on for you!
(except at night when the sea turtles come in.....)

Ditto what Lori said!
I had the privelege of=20
attending Vince's=20
Ancient Clay workshop
this past week at Murrell's Inlet.
I had a wonderful time and came=20
home with a head full of ideas. =20
I also learned exactly what I set
out to learn, and that was
pit firing to achieve blackware.
(at least I will know when I try
it on my own)
And talk about fondling pots,
I can't keep my hands off of
the ones I brought home.
I also met some really fabulous
people while there. =20
I just love clay warriors!!
(that was the nickname my
teacher gave to the tenacious
few who never gave up)
Vince you are the epitome of
patience!=20
Lori keep me on your mailing
list!
Sheron in NC (designing a=20
fire cage for her husband to
build and "eyeballing" the back
yard for a place to dig the pit)

By the way Vince, I finally got
the hang of the double chambered
whistles. I have made two since
I have been home.
