I have been following the posts on attaching tiles to concrete. I
wonder...would the same work for attaching to brick? I plan to tile over a
brick fireplace. Do I need to be concerned about the tooled, indented
mortar joints when I attach my tiles, e.g. do I fill these in with
something--if so, what--before/when I attach the tiles?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Lynne,
I prefer to do a skim coat of cement to even things out and give you a good
base- let it dry then attach your tiles with thin set. It's worked great
for me.
