Old electric kilns make good raku kilns depending on size. There is a
company named Summit Kilns (located in Lady Lake? FL) which sells kits for
converting to propane but really it is just a burner under the kiln. They
are very nice and will talk you through the converting process. I'm not
sure if there email is summitkilns.com or not, I searched to find them on
Altavista. If the brick is in good condition you can convert it to a
straight (non-raku) gas kiln the same way. In fact, if anyone in the DeLand
area wants some repairable or convertible kilns, please let me know. I seem
to collect them and am overrun. Bicham12@hotmail.com. BIC
