Dear Michael,
You were correct. My Volcanic ash has no blue. I must have gotten
something mixed up. I went and did more tests including that great navy
blue black. It is gray. I tried Mel's ash recipe with Gerstley borate.
It is caramel. -does blend well with others. I tried some with a small
amount of Bentonite (a little stiffer) and some with Alumina Hydrate
(crazed). I and now going full bore on Raku for this next month. Goodbye
ash tests 'til another time.
