In our sandy corner of the world there are three thrift shops, a
Salvation Army (and countless patio sales on the weekends).... they
often have candles available. I'm told that almost nobody buys the nubby
ends and seldom buy the longer pieces; that many of them have the wicks
missing or are unuseable. They now save me the pieces by throwing them
in a box I brought in and I pick them up every month or so. No charge.
"Thrift" is their business so they like having the candles used. In
return, I now and then take some of my many, many seconds to be sold in
the thrift shop....... which they are ... but usually to the volunteers
and employees who run the shop. I know...don't put pots with your name
on them out there for all sorts of fine reasons...but, you know, I don't
care if they see what a cruddy job I sometimes do..... AND somebody gets
these pots who actually wants them. I do continue to take pickup loads
to the dump, however..... those are REALLY bad!

In the Mojave thinking that if I really had my druthers I'd head up to
beautiful Canada, catty-corner from us, and attend Tony's workshop.
I'm becoming very selective about my workshops. Since #1 Support Person
can't meander too far from the desert for awhile, I limit my own time
away .... but I KNOW I'd learn from this one!! I've traveled further for
less....many times.... why not?
