I have a big, round, dark shelf I assume is silicon carbide (looks like rough stone, blackish grey.) It came with an old electric kiln and I used it as a kiln floor. But when I put it in my new kiln somebody said it might not be good for the elements. What do you think? Is it OK on the floor without half inch stilts under it? And I'm assuming it shouldn't be kiln washed - ? Thanks again for your patience with a beginner. Yours, Kelly
