Elizabeth,
I do not doubt your observations relating to the behaviour of iron rich =
clays. I also respect your belief about the connections between =
Magnetism and Gravity, though I have yet to hear that this latter =
phenomenon can be explained. The idea of using scientific instruments to =
measure the effect of rotating a cylinder of electrically conducting =
material containing magnetic particles in the Earths Magnetic Field =
might provide information which would validate your hypothesis. If =
strong magnetic fields which could move iron oxides in clay and =
segregate them into an S configuration are being generated it would be =
an interesting fact to add to the knowledge base.
About the effects of the Moon. In the Spencer=92s Gulf in S.A there is a =
phenomenon of a Dodge Tide. It seems as though the Moon misses a beat =
from time to time and the water neither ebbs nor flows. It was =
eventually noticed by this, and other teachers, that children =
periodically became fractious. Such behaviour seemed to coincide with =
Dodge Tides. No scientific or statistical proof, but a curious =
correlation.

I had always believed - had read in the potters dictionary and accepted
as fact - that the s crack is related to the amount of water in the
bottom compared to the amount in the walls; more , so more shrinkage. I
love the idea of magnetism and gravity as causes . The Druids
,practitioners of feng shui and I believe the Egyptian mystics believed
in power spots and power channels ; some of these " spots " could be
quite small . You might try moving your wheel 6 feet to the left or right
, depending on space and your political beliefs , of course.
