Yes, it is.
Hadn't checked it out for a while, the format is changed. Tony and
Sheila won the juror's award at the "FIREWORKS", last week-end at the
FUSION conference in Toronto. Two of Tony's jugs (vessels), and a
teapot by Sheila, both wood-fired and dripping with ash. A well
deserved award.
Just a bit about the conference in Toronto, which was attended by
about 200 people. The workshop presenters were Bruce Cockrane and
Lana Wilson, and it was one of the best that I have attended. Bruce
demonstrated his method of thrown and slab pots, covered ovals, and
teapots. Wonderfully organized. Just a real pleasure watching him
work. Thoughtful work.
Lana Wilson was a gem. A natural; giving lots of tips and insightful
information on her techniques.
For those close to Ontario, I would recommend coming. The annual
conference is held the end of May every year. Next year it will be
in Hamilton, Ontario.
