Hi, Nancy - my students and I have used pine needles quite often for =
raku reduction and we've not had any problems. We get some interesting =
"cross-hatching" marks from the needles burning into the glaze. The =
needles we use are always dry to the "almost dry" stage. Don't know =
about the cypress needles, however. Carly
