There are some openings for the workshop I'm giving this weekend at
Tuckers. If the Clayarter is really driving from Connecticut to Toronto
I'll really have to put on a show. I'm thinking about red heels and
fishnets. I'll even go braless.
cheers,
Tony

First of all I'd like to thank Mini and Sammy Mudd for treating me like a
king while at the Mudd Pile (Tucker's Pottery Supply, Toronto). I was
wined and dined, provided with a dog to sleep with and a gaggle of geese to
wake me at 5 in the morn. It was a great group to work with and it was nice
to meet Clayarters that are now more than a name. Naralon from London
brought a bottle of home brew vino for Sheila. since Sheila never reads my
posts she won't have to know that i have it.
When doing a workshop you try to show that you are more than a one trick
pony. At home and resting you think back and know which of the work was the
strongest and what is really your signature. It also helps when you have
the relentless Mudd family probing and making you think about what you're
doing.
It is really a wonderful thing when the intent of the teachers workshop is
"The pot is the man. No disuise is possible" and the observers see quickly
who you are and what it is that you should keep doing and what perhaps you
should leave alone. When the teacher and the students learn together, it
doesn't get any better than that!!!!!!
My throat is sore and I,m tired. I think it is time to spend some quiet
time talking to my pots.
Some questions answered, more brewing.
Cheers,
Tony

The workshop was a joy.

Not only did I get to meet the REAL Toni Clennell in action, as he worked=
,
but I feel that I got very good insight into what makes him tick. That is=
,
"Why is he such a good potter ?" - having nothing to do with his magnific=
ent
skills, and a lot to do with his attitude, determination, love of people,
and love of the craft, and his gentle approach to both. It truly was a th=
ing
of beauty, and in itself, would have been worth the money.

But there was more - much more. Thank you Toni - I hope I can put to use,
even a bit of what you have taught me. If I can, I will be a better, and
happier potter.

Naralon - pooped after driving home in a cloud burst.
