Dear Claire,
I used latex wax to remove after spraying the background for my raku
horse plaques.
See Ceramics Monthly May 1997 for complete description with photos of
this process. The surface must be smooth , no canvas imprint, or it
takes forever to peel it off.
If you leave it on for more than an hour or two it is also difficult to
remove. I thin it with water but apply several coats. Thinning always a
more fluid control of the application.
I get my latex from Seattle Pottery in the pint containers. It does have
a shelf life .
Clean your brushes with hot water and SHOUT liquid.
Best wishes,
Marcia

Marcia,
I got a pint years ago and never got around to using it. Any remedy for
the thick paste that's in the bottle now? The supplier said try adding
ammonia but that's not a smell I care for, would rather get fresh.
