I am new do the digest so please let me know if I am not doing this correctly.
I do a lot of raku firings and lately have done some fuming with silver
nitrate which has turned out wonderfully. Also I have painted some pots with
a silver nitrate glaze which I then raku. These turn out so beautiful, like
a mirror, some silver and some turn out gold. I ALWAYS use protection with a
respirator, separate brushes, gloves, and cotton clothes that I do not mind
getting that familiar black stain from the silver nitrate.
I am interested to know if anyone else has done fuming with raku ware and
other chemicals. Interested in technique also. Much appreciate answers.
