Hi, I have recently begun using porcelain, enjoy the feel of it and the
smoothness, but have always preferred a matte finish. Most porcelain pieces
I have seen have shiny glazes, which I suppose is appropriate for porcelain.
If anyone has a suggestion on how to work with porcelain, yet achieve a
somewhat satin or matte finish, I would appreciate it. Audrey

Audrey,
You only need to apply a matt glaze to porcelain. Because of the flux in
the porcelain body, you may find it a little more satiny than if on
stoneware. Many celedons are semmi matt surfaces on porcelain. Just find
what you like and do it.
