I think any problem with Kanthal Wire may be due to corrosion rather =
than reduction. Superheated steam is notorious for attacking any sort of =
metal. In addition to that, clay can give out a lot of acidic gases =
which are less than kind to any sort of metal. After three hundred or so =
firings the Nichrome wire I used is corroding. Looks like oxidation but =
the wire is going rotten.
