Hello Clayarters
In August, I am travelling to the US and will be driving in the first week
from State College to Oshkosh in Wisconsin. Are there any potters along
this route or thereabouts that I could call on and who would not mind a
visit from an Indian potter (with a lot to learn still!) from England?
Many thanks to all contributors in advance.

Mariam,
It may be of some value for you to know that there are some
8 potters up here in Door County - about 2 hours drive from
Oshkosh. Door County is not on the way to anywhere (except
Washington Island) but you are welcome to write me for more
information. I am in Sturgeon Bay, some 40 miles north of
Green Bay and you are most welcome to call/and or visit with
a notice. You may also want to investigate the Kohler Art
Center in Kohler, also some 2 hours from Oshkosh, and
(somewhat) on the way to Door County.

The Creative Oasis on wed 21 jun 00
Mariam,
I hope you will visit R&T's Creative Oasis aka The Creative Oasis when you
get to State College. Our ceramics studio is the largest part of our center
and I am positive that Charles Hughes and several of the other potters would
love to talk shop! I hope you will accept my invitation and just drop in if
you have the chance.

R&T's Creative Oasis
State College, PA
PS: All Clayarters are welcome to drop by when in the neighborhood.

I can't recommend stopping here highly enough! I was in State College in
March and stopped by to see the creative oasis. I was warmly welcomed by
Dave, shown all the facilities and we spent a couple of hours talking clay
and kilns. My only regret was not having *throwing* clothes with me because
I understand that for a nominal fee you can use their studio. Visit if you
get the chance!

Thanks Joan for the rave review!
A nominal fee indeed, $2 an hour and a minimum purchase of 5lbs of clay will
get you an afternoons entertainment. For a small shipping and handling fee
we'll even bisque it and send it to your home, or if you're coming back our
way, we'll save it for up to two months on our bisque shelf.
We want EVERYONE to be able to access the arts.
