Although many people thing that the Golden Mean is some sort of magic =
number which can be applied to works in their construction, design or =
analysis, there is an example of this ratio which we all carry with us =
from birth to death.
It is the natural ratio of the lengths of the joints of our fingers to =
each other. Do this test. Hold your arm horizontal before your chest. =
Crook your elbow and your wrist and turn your hand inwards then bend the =
fingers across towards your upper arm. The angles of your shoulder, =
elbow, wrist, palm and fingers are all points on a natural spiral. It =
