Sheron Roberts on sun 2 jul 00
Dragged into Walmart today against my
will by my lovely daughter, I amused=20
myself by looking for clay "tools."
While she and her new hubby were
picking out craft paints I discovered a
Sun Paint Mini Comb. Hmmmm, says me
to myself, could be, maybe, possibly
yep. Bought it. The minute I returned
home I tried it out on a coil pot I am
working on. It is a small, approximately
two inch, square of rubber with each side
notched or cut or serrated (each side is
different) somewhat like the putty scrapper
thingys in the hardware store. One side
has blunt ends to the teeth so you can
stamp the clay making a crisscross=20
pattern. As far as using on a wheel
thrown piece, I haven't tried that yet.
The rubber may be a little too soft to
be a good beading tool. =20
Celia,
Is that fools gold and is it the same thing
as mica? I know this was one of those
facts taught to me in school many many
moons ago, I just can't seem to remember.
Sheron in NC
(where the family has already moved to
the lake cottage to celebrate the 4th
and I find myself preferring to stay home
and make coil pots) (since Vince's
workshop at Murrell's Inlet, I have been
steady making coil pots, I am obsessed!!)
I have got to stop and throw some mugs
and soup bowls!! Thanks a lot Vince and
Lori. Hahahaha
Ok that's my rant, that's about as=20
rantified as I get :)
