Hi Karen!
Is Perry's red glaze available as a commercial (pre-mixed) glaze, or is a
recipe available. To what cone does one fire wares coated with Perry's Red?
Thanks!

Could you tell me where you found the original glaze recipe? Thanks. Katherine

Hi Clayarters,
Just have to report on a new glaze I got from Perry at
Clay Art Center in Tacoma. I needed more of his Red
Essence (the BEST red glaze available) so I decided to
try the Gold Luster. It's KILLER!! Beautiful
metallic gold. I have my own formulae for this glaze
but given the Bismuth subnitrate involved, it is
really hard to get a brushable consistency. Perry's
brushes on like a dream.
Give it a try!

Yes Ok....please do pass along the batch weight gram recipes.
For both the red essence and gold raku
Bruce
ps I also find it annoying when people
either include no reference to their post..
What the hell are they talking about?
Or when their message is lost somewhere
in a long multi post reply...where is it?
or just reems and reems of old news...
get to the point!
So many letters coming here
it makes life so much more simpler if you
take a small effort to focus on your issue with a >snip<
Other lists I've been on would not tolerate
their forum treated as a waste basket like this one.
Please clean up your post...like your best pots bottom...
it is much more presentable in public.

Hi all,
I got a lot of direct email asking for the recipes for
the raku gold and red glazes I spoke about. I'd share
them if I had them, but these are glazes I purchase
from the Clay Art Center in Tacoma WA.
I highly recommend this supplier; they are great to
deal with and have some fabulous glazes. Perry, their
glaze tech, comes up with some really kickass glazes.
Check out their website at: www.clayartcenter.com
or you can call them @ 253 922-5342.
