I can't find the formula and molecular weight of this material anywhere and I
have a glaze I need to tweek a bit that has about 33% of this material! I've
searched all my books, Clayart archives, glaze programs and the web.
If anyone has this information, I'd be forever grateful!

Warm regards,
June

June:
No one has asked for analyses of the family of alkaline earth
Zirconium Silicates before.
Here is my file data:
Magnesium Zirconium Slicate: ZrO2 54.0; SiO2 27.1; TiO2 0.1; Fe2O3 0.07;
Al2O3 0.1; MgO 15.9; LOI 1.5, all in weight per cent.
There are also Zirconium Slicates with these Group II oxides,
namely, Barium and Calcium (IIA), and Zinc (IIB).
You might also investigate Zirconium Spinels which are similar
crystalline materials.
Good pots. BFN. Peace. Tom.

Dear June,

If my calculations are right the molecular weight of Magnesium Zirconium
Silicate as MgO-ZrSiO4 is :

MgO =3D 40=2E3 g
ZrSiO4 =3D 183=2E3g

total is 223=2E6 g
