Just got back from an eighty hour firing at the Jewel Creek Anagama(see new
Studio Potter for an article by poet Tom Crawford)on the Oregon Coast. Tom
Kearcher, who organized the fire, did a wonderful job of choosing the
participants and hosting the fire. The food and drink was superb, the
shifts short(5 hours), and the diverse crew of seven shared poems and song
and genial hilarity. The weather was great and the kiln and its setting
inspiring. Now the ten day wait to see what we accomplished. I'll forward a
more complete report as the weariness subsides.
A grateful Hank in Eugene

Can you provide name, address, location, e-mail of the Jewel Creek folks?
Many thanks,
John

Dear Clayarters; I will forward all your queries to Tom Kearcher; but
please realize that the lease on the land requires a lot of sensitivity
regarding visits so as to not have lots of visitors' cars coming and going
on the owners' land. The kiln is located about an hour west of East Creek
by car. Tom will be the one to arrange a visit if you are ever in the
neighborhood. regards, Hank in Eugene
