I am being offered a ton of diatomite by a firm which did work in cleanin=
g
used frying oil. The firm closed when laws required fresh frying oil dail=
y.
The material is new and clean, in bags as bought.
Can someone tell me if there are some ways of using this silica material =
to
create a body and/or glazes with other materials such as alumina which
would make it economical and practical to use. If so, what is the
commerciall value of this material?
I ignore the properties of this material as ceramics are concerned.
Must get an answer subito presto since material has to be disposed of
immediately.=20
Thanks to all the gurus for any suggestions. G=E9rard loaded and perplexe=

Hi Gerard,

I cannot help you with any clay applications for diatomite but I have a
question. Is this diatomite the same material used by gardeners for non
toxic bug control? This may be another avenue for you to make use of this
material.

Harry
