Hope your 'puter problems are sorted Mel. I was worried
you were really sick following your post on alternative
moderators. I don't know about everyone else, but I
have been suffering from withdrawal symptoms. No Clay
Art for two days and nights!
Anyway, here it is again. The dark and dreadful secret
I let slip and now tell all :-)
For a long time, I have wanted to do a little more than
just a raconteur and stirrer. I have made many friends
and
some enemies amongst Clay Arters, yet this cyber world
becomes more real and less a virtual community with
every day that passes.
Nikom/Eddee's recent death has made me realise just how
attached one can become to cyber contacts. It shows the
power of thought and the written word transcend all
sorts of barriers and prejudices, if we try hard enough
and really listen to what people say.
All you real potters and clay people, big and small,
old and young, experienced and inexperienced make my
day every day. Your sharing of knowledge and experience
is disarming, the passion is quite overwhelming. Posts
and threads are interesting, fascinating, educational,
annoying, infuriating, fun, insulting, evocative,
sensational, joyful... Well, just about all the
adjectives known to man apply at one time or another.
Personalities clash. People give, others take. All
human and ultimately endearing.
Now I want to make a more meaningful contribution. My
TOP SECRET was actually overstated... All I have done
is build a baby web site for the use of Clay Art. I
hope to keep it secret from Eckhard, because he thinks
I do too much already. (I sleep from 04:00 to 09:00
most nights, although I would sleep 10-12 hours by
nature).
How the UNOFFICIAL CLAY ART WEB SITE
develops, depends on all subscribing Clay Buds
(as well as my limited time and skills).
I have talked to Mel about it and we agree that
between his site and this, we will be able
to cover the images and attachments that
were recently discussed.
Instead of overwhelming the listserv with images, they
can be posted to either Mel or me. But before I
continue, perhaps you should look at
http://www.clayart.fsnet.co.uk
It is a start and if you read what is there, perhaps
you will find a use for the site? It is my humble
contribution...
And in the words of the Good Book... "Silver and gold
have I none, but what I have I give to you.".
