A big thanks to all of the list! I have learned so much about electrical
wiring in the last two days. And I've especially learned enough to know
that I need help with my wiring.
I have been fortunate to come across an incredible ad in the paper, and am
now the proud owner of a Pacifica wheel, Cress kiln, slab roller, a
Giffen Grip and scores of low fire glazes. Unfortunately, I'm chomping at
the bit, and my only space (my garage) needs to be wired.
And my breakers don't rate high enough... and I have an old house... yadda
yadda yadda.
Does anyone in the Eugene, Oregon area have an electrician with kiln
awareness they can recommend?
I greatly appreciate it.
cheers
Jocelyn

For a careful electrician, wiring the circuit for a kiln is straight-forward,
whether he's wired a kiln circuit before or not. I would be more concerned
with finding an electrician who is willing to follow instructions than one
who has installed kilns before.
Do you have the kiln manufacturer's recommended breaker and circuit wire
size? If so, be sure the electrician follows those specs. Be wary of the
electrician who ignores them.
