I use low fire commercial glazes as well as cone 04's that I mix myself. I
bisque everything to cone 04 and that seems to help with glaze fit and
eliminating crazing. Also, I glaze fire everything to 04 - even the
commercial cone 06 glazes. That seems to help with fit too, even though it
does alter the color of the commercial glazes - I think to the better. Since
your pieces are sculpture I wouldn't worry about it, a little crazing is
probably the worst thing that's going to happen if you were to bisque to 06
and then glaze fire to 06.
