Dear Clayarters,
I have been longing to attend a Ron Roy workshop for months. I
signed up for the one he is giving in September in North Carolina, but I am
unable to attend.
I do not think that anyone on Clayart needs an introduction to Ron
Roy, as we have all benefited from his knowledge and expertise. If anyone
would like to take my place, please let me know. If you are interested, I
will send you my snail mail address so you can send me a check for $100.
Here are details of the workshop:
Join us September 15 - 17 2000 when the Carolina Clay Guild
hosts a glaze calculation workshop with Clayart's esteemed glaze guru, Ron
Roy.
Participants in the workshop will bring 3 test tiles (size and shape TBA)
of their own claybody, plus one glaze recipe they're interested in working
with. We will be mixing glazes and testing at ^6ox, but Ron tells me that
everything he teaches is applicable to all firing ranges and atmospheres.
The workshop will be held at Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, NC.
Accomodations are available in nearby Reidsville, NC. If you're flying
in, the nearest airport is Greensboro (GSO).
The first day (Friday) we will have a potluck lunch, so bring your favorite
yummy! We will have a catered lunch (included in fee) the second day, and
go out for lunch the 3rd.
Workshop fee is $100, and includes 1 catered lunch, and Ron's Glaze
Calculation workbook.

Veena,
I saw that you cannot attend the RR workshop.
I hope it's just some minor inconvenience and
you and your family are ok.
I also hope you are not driving yourself crazy with
unpacking etc but are enjoying your family and clay.
Our rather exhausting summer is winding down.
I took my daughter to the airport yesterday.
I am going to clean the house when I feel inspired...
hmmm... that may never happen. I had better revisit that plan!

Correction: There are now 2 catered lunches included in the price.
